In an effort to maintain safety measures and ensure physical distancing, we have been visiting our artists in their studios virtually. Double Insight is a new series which offers a glimpse into the artist studio and workplace; the sacred place where creative life and creative process coexist.
Double Insight
w/ Yvonne Mullock
Yvonne Mullock is a graduate from Glasgow School of Art and currently resides in Calgary, Alberta. Her multidisciplinary art practice explores materiality and the processes embodied in the act of making. Incorporating collage, sculpture, ceramics, video and textiles, her work explores ideas of authorship, craft and labour for both gallery and site-specific installations.

Mullock’s deep interest in the making process has been recently manifested in a number of performative works; revealing the destructive action of the given process, acting as a snap-shot in time and outcome serving as a record of the art-making event. Mullock specializes in challenging the conventional notions of her materials, with humour, wit and playfulness.

Over the past 15 years she has participated in artist residency programs in Scotland, New York, Edmonton, Medicine Hat and Fogo Island; and her work can be found in collections across North America and Europe.
