P̓a̱sa’p is a collaborative exhibition hosted by Norberg Hall and curated by LaTiesha Fazakas of Fazakas Gallery. The term p̓a̱sa’p means the action of giving a potlatch to another, and is the guiding principle behind the collaboration. Participating artists come from Tlingit, Haida, and Kwakwaka’wakw territories where potlatching is an integral part of social, spiritual, economic, and political life. Fazakas Gallery and Norberg Hall are thrilled for the opportunity to share stories, knowledge, and resources as part of a reciprocal community forged through friendship and shared values.
Fazakas Gallery is located on the unceded territories of the xʷməθkwəy̓əm (Musqueam), Skwxwú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh).
Norberg Hall is located on the traditional territories of the Niitsitapi (Blackfoot) and the people of Treaty 7, which includes the Siksika, the Piikani, the Kainai, the Tsuut’ina, and the Stoney Nakoda (including the Chiniki, Bearspaw, and Wesley First Nations) + the Métis Nation (Region 3).
