Roy Caussy; BFA (2006), Nova Scotia College of Art and Design; MFA (2015), University of
Lethbridge. Caussy’s interests can be described as an outcome of his experiences growing
up as a first-generation Canadian. Having had studios in Hamilton, Vancouver, Medicine Hat,
and Halifax, Caussy sees this rootlessness as the inheritance of his family’s immigrant and
diasporic histories, allowing the geography and history of each place he inhabits to inform
his practice; Caussy’s practice is comprised of sculpture, drawing, audio and installation.
Caussy has been included in group shows across North America, including: “We Do Not
Work Alone”, Nanaimo Art Gallery (2021); “BC to BC” San Diego Art Institute (2017); “For
The Time Being”, The Alberta Biennial (2017); Caussy’s solo exhibitions include; “Only The
Losers”, Stride Gallery (2019), and “The King Is Dead…”, Art Gallery of Alberta (2020). Roy
Caussy currently resides in Halifax, NS (K’jipuktuk).
